One of the WW2 govt surplus Bell P-59 Airacomet "donated to the Technical Institute of the College of William & Mary, the Norfolk, Virginia school so students could study aeronautical design and mechanics.
That's some great photo, you know what is even better!? The plane in background, that very rare XOSE-1. They build only like, 10 of them I think. Problematic machine that land at the end of float planes on ships era and was canceled. Both of them would be just a crown jewel of any collection. I really hope the P-59 they restoring in Chino will fly again, such a wonderful looking plane.
