That is an amazing collection, and the bids reflect that. Did you look at the tether cars in the auction? Some of them are like works of art. This one has a miniature 5-cylinder radial engine powering it.
ok, a radial engine tether car? That's wacky! I sure looked them over but briefly, and didn't open any of the galleries on them, that is beyond my interest. I was impressed with teh tear drop shaped late 40s couple of tether cars. But tether cars, to me, makes little sense. Unless you're an engine builder. To my sense of what racing is, means having a driver experiencing the race, and robo cars, electric autonomous cars, and tether cars, is about as dull as kicking rocks off a bridge to see which one hits the river first.
