For some reason Jesse, this post reminded me of when I owned a truck, and worked hauling "roadrailers" with a company called Triple Crown Service, owned by Norfolk Southern Railroad. they were trailers that could run on the highway or the rails. They could slide the train wheel in under the back doors. no idea why this didnt work out to be profitable, it sure seemed like a good idea. but theyve sold off most of their roadrailers and closed most of their terminals. I think they had 14 at one point and now they have maybe 2 or 3 .
I wonder what that thing is hanging under the bumper?

DeleteI'll bet it's for picking up parts that fall off the tractor.
ReplyDeleteI once recommended that we install backup cameras on all our trucks so the drivers could keep an eye out for parts falling off.
