I remember when my parents bought a new 74 Chevy Caprice convertible , it came with a 8-track, that was designed to show off the new 4 speaker stereo system, you could hear the music moving from one side of the car and from one corner of the car to the other etc.
Loran was the brand name of a blank compact audio cassette marketed throughout the 1970s and 1980s and manufactured by Loran Cassettes & Audio Products, Inc, a division of Loranger Manufacturing Corporation. Warren, PA. Loran cassettes were exceptional in that the cassette's housing was made of Lexan thermoplastic, which has much more resistance to extreme heat, thus making them suitable for playing in car audio systems.
