mid 40s to mid 50s had a lot of comic books made, and one of the genres was "good girl" - I've never heard of it, but someone collected them, and their entire collection came to auction, and this cover stood out

You can see the entire goofy collection at https://comics.ha.com/c/search-results.zx?No=288&N=52+793+794+791+1893+792+2088+4294939672, and it's probably no surprise, that though the titles are different, a majority seem to all be Archie and Betty, even red head lead character, with a goofball (Jughead) sidekick, one blonde, and one brunette

This locomotive is 1406 and the car's plate is 1407. I wonder what that was about

  1. My son, Kurtis Findlay, has done a lot of research on early comics and offers this suggestion about the 1406/1407 numbers: "This comic was published by Timely Comics (later known as Marvel Comics) and at the time their office was on the 14th floor of the Empire State Building. Unit 1407! Not sure who was next door in 1406, but I bet it was a big business and the fact that their number was on the train was a commentary on how they would steam roll right over a small company like Timely."
