I bet a really good book would be stories from people that had a terrific or formative ride with their dad. 

Mine taught me to drive a stick in his 80s F150, and there's a lot to learn real fast when you're 16, have never driven anything, and suddenly you're trying to smoothly work a clutch, and learn what gear to choose and why, and when.
