an exhibit of Rod Williams 1950s designs "A Maine Son in Detroit" will run through the end of 2022 with a special exhibit of 15 of his automotive design pieces at the Maine Classic Car Museum

at age 23, the enlisted Navy sailor with no formal art education was hired into the Ford Motor Company's Advanced Design Studio.

Rod would work at Ford from 1954 through 1957, having been promoted to the Production Design Studio and contributed to key 1956-'58 product lines. Then he spent two years with Chrysler
