there is a lot of interesting vehicle history mixed into summer camps and Scout camps

Champlin Scout Reservation Fire Truck, 1987

Owasippe Scout Reservation was created in 1911 as Camp White, with 40 acres of land on Crystal Lake in Whitehall, Michigan. It is the oldest continuous operating Boy Scout Camp in the United States, having celebrated its’ 100th anniversary in 2011.

It's rare, but every great while I come across a woody that has a camp logo on the front door.

Maurice Moran, long time Rahway Scouter and two fellow Rahway Firemen with the fire truck refurbished and donated to Winnebago about 1960ish

I think I'm particularly attracted to the camp vehicles because they are out of the public eye. off the beaten path, and a lot older than typical vehicles because the organizations that bought them, or had them donated, weren't affluent enough to continuously replace them with new models, just like small airports.
