as the history of SD traffic jams prove, any of several of the 805 overpasses with a person threatening to jump to their death, results in all southbound interstates getting jammed to a halt as rush hour traffic builds.
All the southbound 805 traffic has to divert to the 8 , and then adds to the 15 and 163 and 5 and 125 southbound traffic.
Why is there so much traffic southbound? Because probably 50 percent of working adults live south of interstate 8, and probably 20 percent of San Diego workers live south of the border in Mexico.... so there are a LOT of people heading south every evening, and it only takes 1 person, to change everything.
the news doesn't report on suicides, or suicide attempts
