good effort to warn people away, but include how ruthless the mosquitos are, and maybe mention it has no moose to go look at.... Ha! You're a hoot! I haven't heard much about the Traverse Bay area, but I suspect that the tourists are the worst? About 60 years ago, the tourists became a seasonal thing, heading north into Michigan for fishing, hunting, and camping.... that has to have tapered off now that gas is so damn expensive, haven't they?
Tapered off a little. Traverse is very expensive now. Skeeters aren't too bad. Every other kind of bug, tho. No moose. A few elk. Black bears too. Like I said, very dangerous. Summer temperatures soar into the 80's. Winters are worse. Snow. The whole area borders on being uninhabitable. Like some post-apocalyptic skianse fiction novel.
Terrible place to live. That whole northwest lower peninsula area. Stay away. Don't even visit. Especially spring and summer. They're the worst.
