It’s costs $8 bucks a gallon for sugar and corn to make shine.

The adjusts to a gasoline engine to run on alcohol are minimal. In Brazil almost all cars are “flex”, which means you can use gasoline, alcohol or any mixture of both. Nothing changes. My car is “flex” and I can say that it’s impossible to guess which fuel you are using.
ReplyDeleteI forgot about the Brazil alcohol fuel... you are a great reminder! However, I think that they are built for the alcohol, and the cars made for people in the USA are not, and the rubber would dry out fast, and carbs wouldn't do well, as I found out when my center carb started leaking as the power valve on the Holley could not work with modern fuel (unleaded with 10% ethanol). But you make a great point, not all cars are so limited.
DeleteI wonder, if the computers on new USA cars would allow alcohol to run as fuel. The few mixed fuel usage cars I've seen, use E85, and regular unleaded.
