see what I mean? And that wasn't even the proper trailer for the film, that just goes to show how much they improved on the 35mm version, to make watching it much more satisfying

That does look really good. I would have liked to have seen it on a big screen when they showed it that way. I hope we will see more movies created like this and They Shall Not Grow Old.

DeleteI'm not sure why people put so much effort into documentaries, I guess it's passion projects, and the result is often astounding. The profits probably aren't. It would be cool to win an Oscar for best documentary though
I welled right up jut listening to those two clips. My Dad got his gunners wings on a B-17. His position as I remember him telling me was Radio Gunner. Indeed, wish I could have seen it on the silver screen. There's so much more I wish I could say, but that would go into a political diatribe, and out of respect, I won't. Again, thank you Jesse for posting.
DeleteI'm very glad I can post stuff that is welcomed as a surprise every day
Deleteand if you want to share some dad or B 17 stories, photos, etc, you're sure welcome to here
DeleteAll I have is a picture of him with the .30 cal over his shoulder wearing his leather flight cap and goggles. A news paper article stating his award of his gunners wings. I'll see if I can find it.
