Looks like there was a Model A club on on Edwards AFB at one time and its members had enough pull to set up a neat event on the flightline.

  1. In his memoirs, Chuck Yeager mentions a Ford A that has been through a string of owners, all test pilots who lost their lives. He instructs his wife to have the car junked, if he dies too.

  3. I seem to remember a passage in 'The Right Stuff' by Tom Wolff about the base commander at Edwards inheriting a battered Model A from his predecessor as airfield transport.

  4. G'day Jesse,Wow this is like looking at a Hemmings "what do you see here? " F104,F102,B47,GE Canberra,F100's-not the Ford!,DC4or6,Box car/Fairchild..not sure on that one,B17?,B58,T33's, Twin business Grumman ?,Chopper can't see enough of and,oh...a few Fords! Geez,plane spotters heaven!
