they may have not had good insulation, or water tight windows, hell, I don't know what the list of bad qualities might have been, possibly everything from wiring to plumbing ... but looking at them now, they had god looking designs and good color combos
now they look like this
ain't that just blah? Maybe it's lots better in most every way, but there's just no visual appeal.
