  1. 1934 Studebaker, at Forest Park with 1904 World’s Fair Pavilion in background. Structure still stands in 2020. The 'quadrapoise' was a type of independent front suspension. It used a transverse mounted leaf spring, lever type shocks, a lower control arm that ran under the leaf spring and an upper control arm that for all the world looks like the business end of a drive shaft. Could be this stunt worked because of the transverse leaf spring, or more likely a load of bricks was placed in the right rear of the trunk.
