looks like the snorkle wasn't enough, there must have been a must have been a big wave, or a trench in the ocean floor that took this Jeep too deep

As any submariner can tell you, you have to have an induction sump, to direct the sea water one way, and the air into the engine induction, and an electrode across the intake of the snorkle, so it will slam shut when drowning in water.

Yep. Simple submarine functionality. SSN 717 and 759 qualified

  2. Back in the mid-70's I lived in the St Louis area. SW of the city there was a shallow river (I've forgotten the name if I ever knew it) with a sand bottom. A group ofJeep CJ owners had modified their Jeeps to run under water and the depth was such that all one could see above the water was the driver's head and the intake and exhaust snorkels!
