parking in Manhattan, no wonder people don't bother with cars, it's cheaper to ... hang on, anyone get a sense of a conspiracy between parking garages and taxis? No? Just me then.

When your choices are taxi and not have a car, or drive a regular car and parking is what rent for a one bedroom apartment (or worse in most of the US) is... to store your car when you aren't at work...
and if you wanted to park a Corvette it would be around 1900 a month, that's over 20 thou a year to park a damn Vette. (not that I have one) or, about 17 thou to park an SUV

that's ridiculous. People have bought houses for less... hell, some people don't make that much money a year!
