I'm curious about that too, a little bit, but also, why 1st thing in the morning?
Does that seem like a good way to get caught up on stuff? Like email, humor, news, etc?

It's an easy, non-committal and entertaining way of starting the day, before moving on to serious stuff like work assignments or the all too often horrible news about the world in general. The JACG posts are usually short, the serious ones are high quality, and every so often there's a really funny one. Mind, there are other good sites and blogs worth following, but this one just seems to have the right format for starting my online day.
ReplyDeletewell, that's a cool way to describe it!
DeleteUsually in the evening. Even if I'm up I don't wake up until 10 or 11
ReplyDeleteCliff said in an email "It's always open in my browser, maybe not exactly the first thing in the morning, but definitely in the morning routine."
ReplyDeleteFacebook, bits and pieces, boing boing, neatorama, then you. Everyday. Thank you for all you do. I still owe you a post on the turbine car lit I got.
ReplyDeleteI am not online during the day. I check this in the am and pm, ( along with facebook ). Couple of other sites too.
ReplyDeleteI prefer blogs to facebook. Not overly interested in what people had for their last meal.Great mix of topics on this blog that I like. https://youtu.be/Bys-OE_C7lQ?list=RDBys-OE_C7lQ
ReplyDeleteGood point. Facebook posts aren't usually entertaining, or enlightening
DeleteFirst thing with coffee. thanks for all you do.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Thanks!
DeleteI check this site allways 1:st thing in the morning! Mostly due to the fact that it's morning here in Finland when it's late night there in the states. And for the "why" part? I love cars. I love nostalgia. I love everything with wheels. I've learned so much cool stuff just by following this blog! I can't think of a better way to start my day. Thank you for doing what you do! Regards, Antero
ReplyDeleteAwww shucks, your welcome!
DeleteEveryday, my inner voice says "it's time to go to Just A Car Guy"
ReplyDeleteLol.. my inner voice is always asking for a can of georgia coffee, some pizza, reminding me that life is better at the track, and to get more sleep
DeleteI totally agree with Kim. You need something that smooths the start of a new day. Jesse provides exactly this and suits well with my interests and taste. My morning sequence is always the same, coffee, JACG, local news, world news and a little social media and off to work. Thanks Jesse!
ReplyDeleteIt's the best way to start my day. I am enjoying coffee and this site at the moment. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteJust a car guy is the first thing I look at in the am,sometimes it’s a small window of mancation, sets the mood for the day, being a Motörhead always something interesting/ different to set the mood for the day!,,
ReplyDeleteThere was a time when it was a lot of boats, lol.. and another time when there were a lot of tanks and planes... but yeah, it's impossible to stick to just one thing when so many cool things are going on all over in so many ways
DeleteBest "Coffee & Donuts" here! A daily read for years and always amongst the first sites I visit in the morning.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have been a steady and reliable entertaining place to kick back and pass some time.
DeleteIt's one of the first sites I go to every morning.
ReplyDeleteRoutine:
ReplyDelete1. Get up in the morning and post to my blog.
2. Click on JACG and see what Jesse has for us.
3. Check for opportunities to help at brickboard.com/RWD (2,7 and 9 series owner for 35 years).
4. Coffee
OMG, that forum has an endless list of help needed posts! Whoa!
DeleteJesse - I've been a fan & follower for many years. You are my 1st click every morning - the 'News'& other diversions can wait. Thank you so much for keeping the faith - keeping it real & keeping us all in the know.
ReplyDeleteWow, you're welcome!
DeleteI use the RSS feed via Feedly, so the first thing I see is up to some algorithim. I'd much rather it be this sight than some news story about politics.
ReplyDeleteI'm at the whim of an algorith? Those bastards, they won't win this fight! I'll keep blogging until the algorithim give up!
DeleteI hope that turns out as funny to you as it seemed in my head
DeleteTHis blog is one of three that are my 1st thing in the morning "go to's" I look forward every morning to reading this blog and seeing some of the most obscure photos and videos I have seen. Love the site!
ReplyDeleteVery happy to keeping up a level of enjoyable content!
DeleteUsually when I am sitting down for the evening, almost every day, I hit The Old Motor; Hemmings Blog; Shorpy; and Just A Car Guy. In that order because I spend longer on Just A Car Guy!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to a more more in 2018!
lol... wel, I have more variety. Shorpy is spot on for what it does, and no one else compares. Hemmings often makes me feel nothing at all, what with the thin amount of material. They have good articles and stuff, but, not much of anything. I mean, posting pages of the Hemmings magazine from 50 years ago? That's good content? Nope. Old Motor? Well, it's went from David's sole project to all sorts of people writing articles. I look at the 1st 7 posts, and huh... parking lot photos? Seriously? No indepth brass era restoration stuff like David used to do. No look at a museum's activities and cars, info on forgotten car makes... so, that's watered down all to hell, like american beer. As for JACG, well, escape from Aushwitz, jet pilot learning bullet trajectory and speed are no match for after burners, the WTF of the week, art, photography, humor, artists, trivia, advertising, celebs, tools, Rolf's Curtiss airplane engine car build, xmas, sweepstakes drawing for a lifetime of Royal Purple, and that was just today and yesterday.
DeleteHA! That should have said "A lot more!"
ReplyDeleteAm I the only night-person here?..Always after 11 P.M. then I can get lost here for hours...Being retired is another advantage..
ReplyDeleteWish I had found you years ago..
Thanks....
Nope, sometimes I'm here too... lol. Tonight, I'm an hour 10 minutes later than you!
DeleteGood, that means I'm doing something right. I get lost here too, and spend hours and hours trying to work out the stuff I find to post.
Oh shoot, thanks! I'm better than I used to be, but, all those archives are there for you any time you've got months to waste looking through them!
And thanks for the car, pizza and beer money! You're the best!
DeleteI posted on the original post that I normally read your blog while eating lunch at work. Sometimes my lunch hour goes a little long if I see something good or if I'm trying to catch up.
ReplyDeleteHA! A little long? I love that... have you gotten sucked into a post that really messed up your lunch hour?
