Kim, Rolf, and Danny brought up a curious thing, a question... how many people open this site up 1st thing in the morning?

I'm curious about that too, a little bit, but also, why 1st thing in the morning?

Does that seem like a good way to get caught up on stuff? Like email, humor, news, etc?

  1. It's an easy, non-committal and entertaining way of starting the day, before moving on to serious stuff like work assignments or the all too often horrible news about the world in general. The JACG posts are usually short, the serious ones are high quality, and every so often there's a really funny one. Mind, there are other good sites and blogs worth following, but this one just seems to have the right format for starting my online day.

  2. Usually in the evening. Even if I'm up I don't wake up until 10 or 11

  3. Cliff said in an email "It's always open in my browser, maybe not exactly the first thing in the morning, but definitely in the morning routine."

  6. I prefer blogs to facebook. Not overly interested in what people had for their last meal.Great mix of topics on this blog that I like. https://youtu.be/Bys-OE_C7lQ?list=RDBys-OE_C7lQ

  8. I check this site allways 1:st thing in the morning! Mostly due to the fact that it's morning here in Finland when it's late night there in the states. And for the "why" part? I love cars. I love nostalgia. I love everything with wheels. I've learned so much cool stuff just by following this blog! I can't think of a better way to start my day. Thank you for doing what you do! Regards, Antero

  10. I totally agree with Kim. You need something that smooths the start of a new day. Jesse provides exactly this and suits well with my interests and taste. My morning sequence is always the same, coffee, JACG, local news, world news and a little social media and off to work. Thanks Jesse!

  16. Jesse - I've been a fan & follower for many years. You are my 1st click every morning - the 'News'& other diversions can wait. Thank you so much for keeping the faith - keeping it real & keeping us all in the know.

  17. I use the RSS feed via Feedly, so the first thing I see is up to some algorithim. I'd much rather it be this sight than some news story about politics.

  19. Usually when I am sitting down for the evening, almost every day, I hit The Old Motor; Hemmings Blog; Shorpy; and Just A Car Guy. In that order because I spend longer on Just A Car Guy!

Looking forward to a more more in 2018!

    1. lol... wel, I have more variety. Shorpy is spot on for what it does, and no one else compares. Hemmings often makes me feel nothing at all, what with the thin amount of material. They have good articles and stuff, but, not much of anything. I mean, posting pages of the Hemmings magazine from 50 years ago? That's good content? Nope. Old Motor? Well, it's went from David's sole project to all sorts of people writing articles. I look at the 1st 7 posts, and huh... parking lot photos? Seriously? No indepth brass era restoration stuff like David used to do. No look at a museum's activities and cars, info on forgotten car makes... so, that's watered down all to hell, like american beer. As for JACG, well, escape from Aushwitz, jet pilot learning bullet trajectory and speed are no match for after burners, the WTF of the week, art, photography, humor, artists, trivia, advertising, celebs, tools, Rolf's Curtiss airplane engine car build, xmas, sweepstakes drawing for a lifetime of Royal Purple, and that was just today and yesterday.

Good, that means I'm doing something right. I get lost here too, and spend hours and hours trying to work out the stuff I find to post.
Oh shoot, thanks! I'm better than I used to be, but, all those archives are there for you any time you've got months to waste looking through them!
