Last month, a five-lane section of one collapsed during rush hour and took part of that highway out of commission.
Monday afternoon, things just got worse. in the HOV lane between the Flat Shoals Road exit and Gresham Road overpass buckled due to an underground gas leak, and now a portion of that freeway is shut down too.
Of 4 interstates for Atlanta drivers, 2 are now shut down.
It could be worse, the temps could be triple digit.
DeKalb County Fire Rescue said the driver of a motorcycle was critically injured after he was thrown 10 to 15 feet onto the roadway by the buckling.
No cars hit the man who fell from his bike. The bike landed about 50 yards away. Phillips said more than 10 people rushed to help the man who fell from the motorcycle.
Some of the people said they worked at Grady Memorial Hospital. The biker had multiple fractures and his leg was likely broken, paramedic Dennis Pierre Charles said.
