na$car has gotten really lame and boring. i lost interest when they stopped requiring the body of the car to be the actual body from a actual production car. thats where the Monte Carlo Super Sport came from, The GM race teams needed something more aerodynamic to compete with Bill Elliott and the new slippery Thunderbird, Chevrolet designed a much more aerodynamic front end from the Monte and were required by nascar to actually build and sell at least 500 production Montes
heck the 24 hours of Lemons is more entertaining than nascar, the Lemons race is a hoot, you never know what kinda car is gonna show upsince they have to cost less than $500
in fact Id love to see brand new factory cars compete in the Lemons races 90% of them would probably croak in the first hour.
exactly! I never have watched Nascar, not the stuff that has been around since I was born in 71... Just videos of the old races, when they had cool car bodies from the factories. The mid to late 60s
What's worse is that, in my view, Brian France doesn't seem to get it. But then I'm just a pesent. Everything about the competing cars was done to make them all equal so to level the playing field. WHAAAAA!?! That's not competition to me. Sorry.
Makes no sense to me to limit the competition, but hell, Nascar was the dominate car racing venue for the past 20 years, so, they did something right. It's dieing off fast now though. I'd think the equal and level playing field kills the competitiveness, and you might as well then jsut throw in the damn towel, and give them all a car from a dealership. Nothing race track ready at all. Factory stuff now is as potent as the best racers of the mid 60s, and seriously, nothing can race over 200 mph on the Nascar tracks anyway, it's too effing dangerous, and that's why all the limits to the race cars. Otherwise it'd be as out of control as NHRA went Only millionaires and billion dollar corporations car afford to field a team in NHRA top fuel and Funny car... it's stupid. Roll them all back to 1965, and start over.
They ought to go back to their roots. Build it, run what you brung......10 cases of liquid in glass jars, in back. After the race you deduct points for broken jars (or add laps). Let the sheriff declare the winner.
NASCAR IS A THING OFTHE PAST . It was a venue for automobile. manufacturers in it's heyday to promote sales of fast looking and fast perforance cars and even trucks but you can only go do fast and look so good so it'd over and over again just like round and round they go
Gagzooks.....an F1 F1. It would be like racing a tennis umpire chair.
