Today I had to go to Lowe's.
As I parked my car and walked to the entrance, I noticed a driver looking for a parking space.
I flagged the driver and pointed out a handicap parking space that was open and available.
The driver looked puzzled, rolled down her window and said, "I'm not handicapped!"
"Oh, I'm sorry," I said. "I saw your 'I'm Ready for Hillary' bumper sticker and just assumed that you suffer from a mental disorder."

L O L!!!!! BRILLIANT!
ReplyDeleteIf you aren't a Bernie supporter, this is the funniest thing you have ever posted.
ReplyDeleteDid you really? That's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteDon't ruin this unique blog (my favorite blog) by starting the same fucking polemic political BS I can find all over the Web. No doubt that any perspective imaginable will gain you some fans. But at what cost to your blog, and your integrity? I easily respect the opinions of others no matter how caustic or toxic because people are more important than opinions and ideas. But I have zero respect for bullying of women, as you have done here. There's never any excuse for it. If you had done this to my wife I'd be right in your face asking you if you had anything for me, or do you just push the ladies around? You have no idea why the woman supports Hillary or Obama. It might be stupid reasons as every candidate has minions, or it might be that her son was killed in Iraq and a personal letter and phone call she received from the President and the Secretary of State gave her great comfort living in every parent's greatest horror, as it did a friend of mine's parents. This greatly changes my opinion of you personally. I used to look forward to running into you as we are both local and run in the same circles or events. But this behavior from you is far beyond immature. Color me greatly disappointed.
ReplyDeletePat... you bring up a solitary voice of solemn and serious rebuke. Haven't you noticed that I am mostly a sense of humor with a camera and a blog. This was one of the funniest jokes I've seen lately, and I'm not the only one to get a lot of laughs from it. Let me fill you in on some background story. This blog? I don't make money, or respect, or social gain from it in any way. It's a place I put stuff so I can have a custom made archive of the things I like when I get older and lose my failing memory completely. This blog will have everything I like exactly the way I want it. A lot of readers like you have come along somehow, and without advertising, or making any effort to drum up readers. I've gotten fortunate, and made some acquintences, and some friends, and found out that I can get a press pass to a lot of stuff now... but, I don't censor my self on what I post to avoid arguments or to hold back my personality. I'm not sponsored, or paid by anyone, and everyone is welcome to read along for the stuff I like, and enjoy the ride, or if they aren't into my tastes in art, cars, trucks, and tanks, they aren't in any way required to put up with my shit. You compliment me greatly to tell me that I've made your favorite blog, and that is really cool. But, you missed something. That was a joke. If you can recall Foghorn leghorns voice, then say with me, "That was a joke son, you missed it. Flew right by you." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTwnwbG9YLE So, I'll just ignore everything you've said while venting because you thought it was a recounting of something that actually happened. Nope, it's a joke I read on facebook. You might even find it, as it is a very old joke just modified a little, that has been told for decades. People who have a bumper sticker for some politician are handicapped and get to use the reserved parking. I've posted a lot about women, and you might have missed my effort to acclimate my readers to the great amount the auto hobby and racing are influenced and have gained by the very often overlooked women that have raced, designed, and written about the cars etc etc. I hope that if you should take a moment, you'll realize how out of character this joke is for me to have committed in person. That's not my style. Telling a joke certainly is, and so is posting about bumper stickers and license plates. That's what I do, all the time, for years now. I don't know how long you've been reading along with me as I post stuff... but I'd figure you, and everyone else, would have decided on what I'm about, and not gotten thrown off the trail by this joke. But, hey, it's your world, I just do my little thing over here and have never heard from you before, so if you are certain that you and I are in the same region and might run into each other, and you looked forward to meeting, lets speed that up a bit. Why don't you tell me when and where and I'll buy the 1st round, and you can get a direct idea of just what a goofball I am, for yourself, without the limits of what I put on the internet for people to enjoy, and that, is what putting a joke on my site is. For people to enjoy.
Deleteoh, yeah, ummm... also. When I tell a story of something I did, I don't put a link to some facebook page where that story originates. Like, right under the joke, is the place I found it. So.... you must have been pretty pissed to miss that credit to the source, like I always do, when I get something from somewhere else and want you readers to know I respect the creator of the content and want you to go click on the link to see where it came from if you want more of the same.
DeleteHi Jesse,
ReplyDeleteI was relieved to see your replies to Pat WMA. Similarly I didn't notice the link and thought you were recounting an actual conversation you'd had. It seemed very out of character as you've always come across as a tolerant person on an internet often full of vitriol.
On a slightly different tack, I don't know your personal politics but you might not be aware of the horror with which most of the rest of the western world looks on Donald Trump. Yes, it is our business because America's actions on matters such as climate change and Middle East relations have a profound effect on the rest of us. We've just elected a London mayor who's muslim; presumably if Trump is elected he wouldn't be allowed to visit you.
Please excuse the rant.
Regards,
Tony
Jesse,
ReplyDeleteYou just keep up the good work you do. If I don't happen to like something you put in there, I just skip over it. Love your blog.
Thanks! It never occurred to me someone would miss the joke, and the link. Well.. you can't win 'em all, I've often heard over the years
DeleteEase up people. It would have been just as funny if it had been said about Trump!
Deletethanks Ponto, I didn't think about that, but you're completely right.
DeleteThank you for doing what you want. Please don't let the 'Pats' of the world ruin that.
ReplyDeleteJeff
You're welcome... It looks like after his complaint he went away mad. Oh well. If they can't take a joke, they sure better not read what I add to the internet
