In the 40+ years since, the garage remains have completely rotted away and the nearby house was abandoned and has also disappeared.
Of course, I'm skeptical, but, how else does anyone suppose the front was the LZ for a boulder?

What mile marker is this?

Deletethank you Nail Art!
DeleteIt's in between saylersville and prestonsburg
ReplyDeleteIt wasn’t in a garage. It was parked in front of a mobile home.
ReplyDeleteThis is a well know site near me. I will clear things up. I know someone from the family of the car's former owner. The person bought the car new a few days before and he parked it out side his home that he shared with his wife and kids. During the night, there was a heavy rain, and when the family woke up the next morning, the bolder had rolled off the nearby hill side and landed on the car. I have been to this site a few time. It's for real.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your info and effort! Thank you! I have to rely on the source of info where I find the photos I post, and they don't often get very specific, or thorough.
DeleteI hope the insurance company was kind to him, that's just a terrible Murphy's Law event
God I hope he got it insured!
DeleteDoes anyone have the name of the road where this is located? I've heard there isn't much left to see, but would still like to try to find the spot, if possible... Just so I can make it off my list of famous abandoned and neglected cars.
ReplyDeleteIf the car was new, why is the tire bald? Hmmm
