3 Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies were relieved of duty for allegedly accepting bribes from drivers and stealing items from towed vehicles.
In addition to the three deputies, a parking control officer was also relieved of duty until the department's internal investigation is complete.
The four allegedly took payments from drivers who wished to avoid having their vehicles towed or impounded.

Keep in mind, impounding cars of the half million illegal aliens in LA County is at the heart of the State Supreme Court case the allows the LAPD to impound the cars of illegal aliens for 30 days, which gets very very expensive. http://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-lapd-impound-20141227-story.html This in turn, was the motivation for illegal alien sympathizers to get a law passed that made the State of California give illegal aliens a drivers license. Not in the country legally, but get a license to driver in California legally. WTF?
In 2012 LAPD Chief Charlie Beck implemented Special Order 7, if police stop an unlicensed driver who meets several requirements including having auto insurance, valid identification and no previous convictions for unlicensed driving, their car can be impounded because they are not in the country legally. The three-judge panel from California's second appellate district found unanimously in favor of the LAPD and Chief Charlie Beck.

The federal investigation originated with allegations of brutality and corruption against jail deputies. It branched off into obstruction of justice after sheriff's officials found the inmate's cellphone. The officials were accused of hiding the inmate informant under various aliases and threatening an FBI agent with arrest.

Seems like it's from the script of "Training Day" where the highest ranked cops were all taking bribes to keep things quiet, and being paid to let "Rampart" style police corruption happen
