Pabst Blue Ribbon has a new marketing campaign, pretend a truck has been stolen in California, "Beer is getting warmer, trail is getting colder. Clock's still ticking," the company wrote, urging people to snap a photo and tag them if they see the truck.

A truck carrying an estimated 40,000 pounds of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer was stolen in Montclair in what may be the biggest beer heist ever.

The stolen truck was loaded with what is equivalent to more than 50,000 cans of beer.

Pabst has been using a lot of social media to hype this, like on Instagram, the company wrote: "STOLEN - 40,000lbs of beer."

The post continued: "To the thief: we don't fault you for wanting to brag to your friends how much PBR you have"... (clever)

The company gave the thief an ultimatum.

"Pabst is officially starting the clock now - you have exactly 18 days and 44 minutes ( Pabst Brewing Company was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1844  ) to return our truck, no questions asked"

Question.... how does any corporate delivery vehicle NOT have GPS tracking, and NOT get tracked by Flock cameras?

I'm guessing this is a marketing campaign strategy to get free publicity (the deadline and founding year, that's a clue) and nothing more. That's actually clever

Frozen meal delivery service Schwan's, will be permanently parking its yellow trucks this fall, after 72 years

Founded in Minnesota in 1952, Schwan's started off delivering ice cream via yellow trucks right to customers' doorsteps. 

On March 18, 1952, in Marshall, Minnesota, 23-year-old Marvin Schwan climbed into the 1946 Dodge panel van he’d recently bought. Marvin's parents had started the Schwan’s Dairy a few years before and their brand of ice cream became popular locally, so Marvin wanted to try sell his family’s ice cream to local farmers. Marvin, a natural salesman - genuine and unassuming, filled his van with 14 gallons of ice cream. He drove north out of Marshall, into the patchwork quilt of farms and fields that had just been planted that spring, and started knocking on doors. By the end of the day, Marvin had sold all the ice cream.

They later expanded to a wide variety of frozen foods like pizza and pasta, among others. Schwan's was the original food-delivery service, but way more personal that Uber Eats. Everyone knew their local "Schwan's guy."

Schwan’s Co was sold to South Korea’s largest food manufacturer for $1.8 billion for an 80 percent stake in Schwan’s and gain control of its businesses.

It is the only known real Light Delivery Wagon known to survive.

The collection of period accessories on it is, alone, highly rare and includes a set of Badger Brass Solar Model 56 kerosene headlights and a brass railing on the footboard with the Olds emblem integrated with it.
