A Brazilian made Simca Chambord, used on the TV series O Vigilante Rodoviário

here's a rare and unusual ad, Simca, part of Chrysler decades ago when it bought Sunbeam-Rootes corp (thanks Maxime!)

Ironically, Simca was a French automaker, founded by Fiat and, after Simca bought Ford's French activities, became increasingly controlled by the Chrysler Group.

In 1970, Simca became a subsidiary and brand of Chrysler Europe, ending its period as an independent company. Simca disappeared in 1978 when Chrysler divested its European operations to another French automaker, PSA Peugeot Citroën.

PSA replaced the Simca brand with Talbot after a short period when some models were badged as Simca-Talbots.

And now Chrysler and Fiat and PSA are partners. Ironic

though I forgot to get a photo of the front of it, here's a 1951 Simca that raced at Sebring... and has a terrific interior... and you'll see that the front didn't really have a lot to look at anyway

the exterior is quite a boring design. The interior is very cool though

I'm guessing the yellowed horn and knobs are bakelight, cool steering wheel design

nice knob design, nice gauges

terrific leather seats aged to perfection, and cool racing helmet
