Just a note: Hudson, NY is in Columbia County. The Volunteer Firefighter's Museum and Retirement Home is there. It is a small museum with a goodly amount of equipment including a horse-drawn tanker from the late 1800's that was used for fund raising. yes, it can pump, but it's main feature is that it is SILVER-PLATED. In my halcyon days I had been to the home of the electroplater who refurbished the plate in the 1960's.
responding to a couple comments here, as it takes a long while to open each post to reply to any one single comment, and I am very flustered, and distracted by a blood sugar spike, so- you are very welcome, Dang, I didn't realize this was your area! Silver plated.... why the heck did they silver plate it? Silver has to be polished, unlike chrome. Wait, like I said, very flustered and distracted, a fund raiser - hence the silver plating! Is that it? You've been to the Chief diners? Whoa! Wow! Dang! sheer coincidence I posted about it!
