I was so caught up in how hard it was going to be for him to get down, I didn't realize there was a camper trailer on the back of the car. Must have been a powerful car with great brakes!
That old '57 Olds probably had a pretty powerful engine for hauling things, but the breaks? Not too sure. Even with 11 x 2 1/2" drums all around, that's a lot of weight to stop. Maybe the trailer had electric breaks.
That would be a '57 Pontiac. Same problem as the Olds though, strong engine, crappy brakes!. My '57 88 was good for about 2.5 hard stops from above 60 MPH and then you were on your own! Not the car to hustle down a twisty road.
