In 2019, Mountain Dew made a mistake involving the U.P. when it incorrectly included a map of the U.S. in a national ad campaign that included the Upper Peninsula as part of Wisconsin. And while Mountain Dew at least remembered the U.P. in that flub, it was still a mistake that required an apology and other offerings. The company eventually created a special label for the U.P. and held a special event in the peninsula to ask for forgiveness.
This isn’t the first or second time this type of mistake has been made, either. “The New Yorker” made a similar mistake in December when a cartoonist included the U.P. as part of Wisconsin, too. “Saturday Night Live” forgot to include the U.P. on a map used in a 2019 skit as well. And while those oversights are frustrating coming from outsiders, to have it come from a Michigan-based company is particularly egregious
The Auburn Hills-based automaker -- yes the company headquarters is in Michigan and because they are ignorant below the bridge moron trolls, used a map that doesn't include the Upper Peninsula in a commercial that aired during the Super Bowl yesterday night.

That old has-been ranks right up there with Kerry, Nader and Romney.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a map that was drawn with a Sharpie...
ReplyDeleteAs it turns out, that is the map that's at the church. Not that is matters much.
ReplyDelete....maybe I'll send a sharpie to the church.
