Unless there are chivalrous men (like me) around who will stop on the side of a busy highway to help a damsel change that flat tire. Which I did a couple times. Crazy.
Loss of the ability to change a tire using a bumper jack is not a bad thing. It was just pure dumb luck that I didn't have that '78 Cordoba smash me into a paste on the garage floor. Been 30 something years and I still remember the panic associated with that scraping sound. Being young, dumb and broke can definitely decrease ones life expectancy.
My mom could change the tire on our little Renault, and she was really proud of the fact she could do it. My Mother-in law in Tokyo got a flat once, and when I said I could put on the spare tire she didn't even know what that was. Times change
