My 88-year-young Mom, always, has "had a thing", for him. She wasn't too enthused with all the profanity in the film. Had to explain, "Mom, that's how hockey players converse!"

No problem, with time, of posting/response, Jesse(and, nice to meet you)! When my folks got home, from the theatre, I, still remember Mom was saying, as they came through the door, "I can't believe 'my Paul'(as she, always, referred to him) could talk, like that! She did love both, "The Verdict" and, "Absence Of Malice." I think I'd go with the lat---nope, can't pick one, over the other.
And that appears to be a 1972 Maverick behind it
