Looks like bamboo Jesse which does have astonishing strength . . . many Asian countries use it for scaffolding as well.
sure, I get the use of it for so many other things... but wow - the weight of a land rover is pretty hefty. Then again, did you see the Top Gear last season where the guys made a bridge of bamboo, then drove rigs across it?
