The PA Traveler's Guide highlights Dunkle's Guf as being constructed in 1933 as the art deco "showplace" between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, PA. Others were earlier, like the first drive in service station built in 1913 in Pittsburgh, but Dunkle's Gulf is still standing and in business competing against the bigger chains with only a couple of pumps.
