a 1939-40 Packard 120 Convertible Coupe
1937 LaSalle Convertible Coupe Model 5067
or is it a Buick Century?
the bumperettes are wrong on all these examples, but look how similar they all appear
Over here in Denmark it's known as the 'mother-in-law's seat'.
ReplyDeletethe mother in law seat in the USA was once on the side of the car, in front of the back wheel, but not inside the car on the Paige Daytona. http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2012/03/1921-paige-daytona-speedster.html There was another on the 1910 Royal Tourist http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/03/wonderful-variety-of-brass-era-cars-at.html
Delete1938 Buick 46c. I'd only bet a coke, tho.
ReplyDeleteso, was the trunk and rumble seat nothing to be impressed by? Were they commonly found that way? I just can't recall seeing that before. Maybe I was looking at other stuff in photos where that appeared, but I don't recall seeing one in person at the hundreds of car shows I've been to either
DeleteI think the combo was on the higher end autos. I dunno. I like Buicks and those are the ones I've noticed. Maybe its the spare tire space.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Chuck, probably for the spare tire. He is also correct on the year & model
ReplyDeleteIn this procure drawing you can just see the line for the "trunk"

Yes, its a 37 or 38 Buick century. Cadillac and Packard also had this arrangement, which eliminated the need for side mounts.
