The body started as a fiberglass, ’27 T bucket, but Hix and his younger brother, Dan, from Arkansas, stretched it to accommodate the rear-mounted radiator. Going fast is nothing new to these guys. They drag raced for years, and set an A Gas Supercharged speed record of 124 miles per hour in the quarter mile in 1958.
He did a lot of brilliant engineering to the car also!

what a BEAST! I wonder when the combined weight of engines begins to make a depreciating return on the number of engines put on a vehicle.
DeleteI forwarded your post to our Autolite/Fram training director, because of the four Fram filters on the engine. He wanted to try to contact the owner, so I did a Google search and found this -

Looks like another interesting blog, but the newest entry was in 2015.
I heard from Jay, (you'll see my post of questions he answered for me today) and he had emailed me to see if I knew the owner. That's mighty cool... getting that quintet of Frams replaced for free!
