The WAZE driving app has a self protect feature, to keep malicious hacker types from screwing things up, here's why

in 2014, students from Technion University went to troll the app, and created scores of new Waze users, then generated fake traffic jams by pressing the app's traffic signal in concert. the app rerouted real-world users around the bogus jams.
