Dave Mirra has left us, he needed out fast, and left behind wife and kids. Held the record for the most medals at the X Games for quite a while

He won a total of 24 medals at the X Games, 14 of which are golds. Mirra held the record for most X Games medals until being passed by Bob Burnquist in 2013, and has medaled in every X Games from when they started in 1995 up to 2009 with the exception of 2006

In 2005, Mirra won the Best Male Action Sports Athlete ESPY Award, and hosted two seasons of MTV's Real World/Road Rules Challenge.

Mirra was also a talented driver. He joined Subaru Rally Team USA in 2011, piloting a WRX STI to an eighth-place finish in the Global RallyCross Championship that year. In the Rally America series, he finished fourth.
