and I was also happy to see this for the first time, Tommy Ivo's trailer! I wish more of the trailers and transporters were brought to car shows.... they get as much attention (as Don Prudhomme proved) as the show cars
Automobiles presented in concrete boxes look completely out of place. Time for the GNRS to move outdoors. It works for Pebble Beach and to quote an old song "It never rains in California.........."
ReplyDeleteThe venue change to Pebble beach would be a mistake, San Francisco started the Oakland Roadster Show, and it moved to Pomona for a reason... going back would be a mistake. As for the cars being inside, that is possibly so the audience is more comfortable, no rain (2013 was a storm all weekend) or heat to make the paying audience relaxed and willing to spend more buying from the many vendors. I've noticed the more hot and sweaty the viewers the faster they leave. At least 2 or 3 halls are half full of vendors selling clothing and stuff. That goes pretty well when people are cool and dry, which is why the GRNS is every January in LA. Ditto the Arizona Concours happening in the beginning of January in Phoenix.

ReplyDeletethose are split versions of full rear windows, and just an option on the Vette. I don't think of the Vette rear window as dual, since for the last 52 years it's been called the "Split rear window Vette" and I see this yellow thing as dual, not split. The VW bug, and others, well, that is a good point.
