Above shows how little remains of what was the 3rd largest city in the USA in WW2, and below, are the reamins of the Packard plant. Truly an enormous facility, that's been abandoned for decades, as there is no one to sue and litigate to pay for the demolition of it, so Detroit hasn't bothered to touch it. and you've probably heard that Cadillac has struck out on it's own, getting a bit removed from GM by making it's new headquarters in New York City? It's not the first sub company to move out of Detroit, Jaguar and other Ford subsidaries went to California some years ago... I think it won't be much longer until all the car companies have left Michigan. There is no reason to stay there anymore that I can think of. Nissan and BMW? They made their factories in southern, less union, states... better weather and easier access from the Atlantic Ocean.
