the above was posted on Hemmings by Dan and he commented that it was taken in 1944, and he found a copy online, and it was then reposted by CarrosAntigos... where I found it. Tracking it down took about an hour, and a library in Michigan has a large collection of photos, this was among them.

Very cool.. my great-grandparents homesteaded in Plainwell, and grandparents and mom lived there til the mid 1960's, and then moved to the UP.. returning for '75-79 with me, my sisters and cousins when my mom and her sister moved back to their childhood stomping grounds in Plainwell to try raising their kids there. Something didn't go so well, and we moved back tot he UP in '79. I left Michigan in '89 when I graduated high school and joined the Navy. Good place to grow up as a kid, I can say that for certain.
DeleteMy grandpa was a life long employee for DeNooyer. As a mechanic his name was glen McGuire and worked on portage st.we had some good times.back then
