SSS was an option package, if you will, on the 510 Datsun ; sorta like an SS Impala or Chevelle. It included 2 carburetors, different cam and a tach as I remember. May have been offered on other Datsuns too.[looks like a 410 wagon there] That first Mazda there was a car we got in the US with a home market nameplate ; that particular unit may not have been a US car, but the model was available here. Sorta like the Bluebird - a 510 to American residents. The Prince was a prerunner to Datsun as I remember, and toyopet is toyota. Ive never seen that toyota sedan thats obviously copied from a 510 though either. Learn something new every day!
Firstly, thank you for your great blog, I have only recently discovered it.
Fortunately many of these Japanese cars from the 1960's and 1970's were also sold here in Australia. That's a Datsun 1600 SSS sedan and then wagon in the next shot.
The white coupe you show with the ducktail spoiler is a Datsun 240K GT.
White car, below the Datsun 1200.....
ReplyDeleteIt's roof lines look very much like a late 60's Barracuda and gradually transforms into the tail end of an early 70's AMC Javelin.
