To the Comic Con Press Registration Application Review Committee:

I don't have letter head, I'm not a company, I'm just a car guy that started blogging 19 years, 62,000 articles, and about 74 million viewers ago.

Due to Google (who hosts/runs/owns Blogspot.com) not beginning the tracking of stats until 2011, my numbers from 2006 to 2011 are not on the above graph and metrics... but they weren't very impressive in the first decade anyway - as website traffic goes.

This past year was a drastically higher traffic, the below chart shows weekly totals, but the monthly has roughly been a million views or so

As the graph indicates, 17.8 million views in 12 months, and daily, it's about 20-40k, daily totals are on the graph, though the scale isn't very helpful, and only when using the interactive ability of the blog, are they numerically indicated.

Anyway, that's the traffic stats, here are links to what I've shown my readers about Comic Con

Along the right hand side of the blog are links to all the individual years of Comic Con coverage, but relative to the other interests of Comic Con, Film and Television are my links to coverage of

The letter must include the OKC's
full name, Jesse Bowers
title, Blogger
and Member ID, Jusacarguyblog
as well as outlining the outlet's interests: pop culture, art, animation
and reasons for attending as press: to cover Hall H and main hall, movies, animation, art, books, graphic novels, artists

At Comic Con I came across Pepe Moreno's booth... whoa! Have you seen the cool art he has made? Specifically Joe's Air Force? Check this out!

Or, one of his other titles, like this hot rodding one!

And this next one is known as War Zone / Zeppelin

His gallery is in Tarana, so, it's a place I can stop by next time I drive up to LA!

Pepe's most famous work, is Batman: Digital Justice, and his early underground work in the San Francisco bay area was featured at the Smithsonian Institution and in permanent exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in France.

Agnimu Rehpot’s The Curiously Astounding Phenomenal Wander (by Mike Maydak)... that's the title of the most interesting book I've bought in years (since Schott's Original Miscellany or Bibliophile: An Illustrated Miscellany)

certainly a book of art, that I must do my best to praise so that more people find something new to be astounded by and enjoy.

(Below, the interior of Laughing Lodge, a comedy club, where when the stand up is good, the heads laugh)

Why post about this book, this author?

Do you remember the first time you discovered Miyazaki's "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" or Castle In the Sky"? How about Iron Giant? Princess Bride?

Because, I kid you not, there IS a Princess Bride reference!  Max's Miracle revival tablets for the mostly dead, not the all dead. Yes, that really blows my mind that there is a Princess Bride easter egg in this book!

Sharing this book with you, is like the first time seeing those movies. Discovering an artist that is a world builder with the narrative concept perfected on all it's components, and who has the incredible artistic talent to bring all the large and small pieces of it to life on the page.

Of COURSE I wonder, why the hell some animation studio like Studio Ghibli, Laika, Sony, Cartoon Saloon, Titmouse, or Aniventure ( Anyone else think I know way too much about animation and art for a car guy?)  hasn't reached out and offered Mike a movie deal

So, what's the connection with this book, and this blog about vehicles? Tank/tractor/dozer treads. Well, caterpillar drive mounted trees, specifically, and steam punk.

in the way that the cities in Mortal Engines were mobile, so, are these trees.

Why? Don't know, don't care. That's way past the point of just sitting back and enjoying this astounding art book which world builds with a plethora of characters, beginning with the intro - that the title begins with - Agnimu Rehpot

So, Agnimu is the narrator of this book, and it's HIS notebook of wanderings and observations of the places, people, creatures, and way of life of this world that Mike built.

the above image is one of many that dive into a building/environment to show with extreme detail, the inner workings of a business, or windmill, etc and every one was worth the time to analyze and study

Above is a residence, made from the many giant pumpkins (inspired by Linus looking for the great pumpkin every Halloween?)

or you can look through a lot more images from the book at https://www.facebook.com/dakdakgoose in the 2020 and 2019 era

Also, when you buy this, get the Yadda Yadda Yadda book.... it's the part 2/volume 2. Yup, it's a must have.   https://www.etsy.com/shop/MAYDAK?ref=shop-header-name&listing_id=707170022&from_page=listing&dd_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.agnimurehpot.com%2F

This was a 3 hour post. It takes a long time to look for the art.

I stopped by Patrick Ballesteros' booth again this year, it's a must! He has new fun incredible work every year! This year, the new theme work is "Jeepney Kultura-Mag Ganito"

Fun, and incredible, am I right?

This is why I post about his great art

so many artists only one one example of something car or train related, but, even so, it's fun to look for it! Aaron Alexovich has one cool train in his new book "It's Not Scary!"

Aaron has worked at DC, Nickelodeon, and Random House

Bad Guys two had an unobtrusive promo location... but it did get seen by everyone in the Gaslamp area next to the convention center

I wasn't there at the right time for the best photos, but I did manage to get a couple photos of the Twisted Metal prop cars

You can be damn sure when an artist has a shifter pattern tattooed on their hand, they love cool cars, and make a lot of cool car art. Sean Murphy is known as one of the most talented artists in comics

https://seanmurphyart.bigcartel.com/

and one of his coolest graphic novels, is Tokyo Ghost

The complete, deluxe edition collection received a starred review from Library Journal, where Tom Batten called it "among the most fully realized graphic works of the last decade."

Not only does Murphy have an impressive comic book resume and knack for bringing amazing stories to life, he is also a car enthusiast, and owns a Datsun 280Z with an RB25 that pumps out 500 hp

Sean  created a whole comic book world around his Datsun and their shenanigans in a series called Under the Hood

By the way, if you're curious about how much comic book artists make, from creating the art; about 50% of creators work at or below the poverty line, which is currently $11,770. 66% of Artists in Comics make Less than $50,000.
