yup, I figure no one actually enjoys working on their cars, doing upkeep and improvements, and never notices that something has worn out. I replaced the shocks, and can't tell the difference.
Recently I've replaced myself the shock absorbers of my old beetle. I was surprised to see that they were the original ones, from 1974!

You replaced your shocks, but why can't you notice any difference? You should notice the ride is less spongy.
