And I pedestrian crossing to boot!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in my early 20's I had a part time job driving a forklift at a supermarket.
Every morning I would wave to my dad as he would walk to the train station that was next to the supermarket.
At this time he was a detective with the police. Now one morning the mall that the supermarket was attached to was broken into so a whole bunch of police cars turned up and one of them parked across the pedestrian crossing.
A few minutes later my father walked up, got into the police car, got the ticket book out of where ever they keep it and wrote out a parking ticket, waited for the police to finish, and then got a ride into the police station with the offending cop.
He proudly says that that was the only time he wrote out a ticket.
But he has to keep the cruiser close to where he is in case there's an emergency like say... a fire.
