This is a Ford Escort RS2000 MK II - nothing to do with the 1st gen or Australia. But something is strange about that picture, because above the belt line everything looks very out of proportions. In my opinion it is a very neat looking car. Don't forget it is from the time, when plastic grills and tails considered sporty and cool. Check some GOOD pictures about the same thing: http://www.project-st.com/history-lessons-13-1976-escort-rs2000-mk2/
I believe this is a 1980ish Australian Ford Escort RS2000.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a quad headlight model, which is why I am thinking it's from down under. I agree, awkward and ugly looking.
The dual headlight cars are very pretty looking and have an extensive and successful race history in England and Europe.
1978 Ford Capri? (the hood being not fully closed makes it look strange)
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was a Capri... but I've never seen one that looks like this
DeleteFord Escort RS2000 Just got an email telling me
DeleteThe body is a first generation Escort, but I've never seen that fugly grille headlight combo
