  2. WOW! Now that's a Super Special Jeep! I knew the name, but never the details about it. That's just gorgeous, and don't let me near it, I'd "steal it" for sure! LOL One question, did the roof mount of the spare tire come as "standard" or was that an "Option"? Love it!!

    1. that's more detail than I get into when taking pictures. Instead of taking my time to look that up, I'll leave it to you to use the same internet, and same amount of time, to decide if finding out is something you want to use that time for. Me? I want to post more cool photos from SEMA instead of finding out if the tire on the roof was an option or standard. I'm pretty sure I already know where a factory spare was located on a 63 Willy Jeep

    3. The 4wd Traveller had the spare on the roof and the diamond plate step behind the rear bumper to (theoretically) reach it up there.

The 2wd Traveller had a spare tire mounted behind the driver inside the vehicle. This made the left hand rear bench seat shorter than the right hand. Marketing materials claimed the 2wd was an eight seater and the 4wd was a nine seater. They must have been small people.

Images of both 2wd and 4wd can be seen in the brochures above.

  3. Yep, that roof top Spare Tire Carrier was unique & Standard Equipment for the "Traveller" version of the Willys Wagon, along with the 2 Side Mounted, Fold-Up Benches in the back and the Twin Rear Doors instead of the Lift Top Rear Window & Tailgate. Cool Car for Sure!!
