Police said the skip-loader was taken from a La Mesa construction site and apparently driven to the Union Bank branch on Waring Road near Zion Avenue shortly before 5 a.m. The would-be robber used the equipment to rip the ATM from its drive-through lane, knocking over a bank sign and plants, and tearing up concrete in the process.

Much as I dislike thieves (ask me why...), there is something oddly impressive about this primitive approach. In Denmark they usually tie a steel cable to a safe deposit box and have a car pull it out of the wall, but this is taking it to another level.
