this one was found in a little swap meet in Royal Oak Michigan, for 6 bucks.
Turns out that it's got a Ford part number, and it might as well be made of unobtainium. See, a brand that Ford wouldn't use, when they own their own carb company, makes it worth serious money to restorers of 1971 Mustangs, Torinos, Cougars and Montegos 4 speed with out air conditioning

Rebuilt LOTS of Q-jets over the years....even a few of the Ford versions. Cousin had a 429 Cougar Eliminator....tuned that a few times brought to shop monday morning, drove it in with a funny noise and the clutch was a big pile of fuzz in the bellhousing. Drag racing Sunday.
ReplyDeleteDoug Roe had a great book to rebuild Quadrajets for off-roading, circle track, drag racing, etc., how to time or delay the secondaries, great book.
