parts breaking? Must be a Harley

The belt alone is $160 - 200. The work is a bit of time, and paying someone to do it is around $600

    1. not this time. This is my cousin's bike, and I don't consider 6547 miles to be "high mileage" and he's never done wheelies with this, or any big bike.
Not that I gave out that info in the post, it wasn't something that made sense when giving Harley a raspberry for low quality over priced parts.

Don't think I'm against Harleys though, I give everyone grief, especially Chevies, Fords, new anything really. No quality in my opinion based on the recalls I've seen.... and I don't even have to look it up to tell you I posted about Harley having a recall on something they should have engineered better, tested better, and never had a problem with.

Any company still building the same type of vehicle should be effing perfect at it by now. Seriously, how can they not build parts to last 20 thousand miles on a commuter? Racing parts? I won't give anyone shit about broken racing parts unless it's just stupid clear that it was a manufacturing fail, and not the expected beating from the driver.

    2. Whoops, I was thinking of something else with the mileage, that part isn't accurate... you know, I post a shit ton of stuff, that number was stunk in my head for some reason that wasn't this bike. Honest mistake.

    3. Get over it. My have 43k miles with the original belt. Shit happens, the belts can get damaged if debri like rocks get into the belt sprocket and that rare even in off road riding. You are just anti American. Toyota get more recalls than any car manufacturer but you still drive one.

    4. I'm anti american? Seriously, you just showed your ignorance with that. I don't drive a Toyota either... so, 2 for 2 with talking shit and being clueless. And allright, you did score points with the rock in the sprocket bit of info... not riding a bike means I wasn't aware of that. Sure, shit happens. But my god, man... calling me anti american is stupid. Saying I drive a Toyota is stupid. Sure, Toyota does get more recalls than Harley... they make about 1000 times more vehicles than Harley makes bikes too. It's just logical they'd have more recalls. But they don't have low quality over priced parts like Harley. Toyota has decent quality decent priced parts.
You're lucky to get 43k miles on one bike, that's respectable all day long Matrox, I can't do anything but start the slow clap for a bike that does 43k miles! But don't lash out like a bitch and call someone anti american, that's a 1st grader move.

    5. Oh, and to set the record straight I drive a Hyundai Velsoter, because it gets good gas mileage and has a stick shift, for under $25k and isn't a 4 door.
      My other car is a 1969 Coronet R/T with a 426, 3 carbs, a 4 speed, and Dana 60.
So either based on what I chose to drive since my first car ('72 Barracuda, 70 Challenger, '72 Demon, '69 Super Bee, and now my '69 R/T) or my 10 years in the Navy on subs, means I'm not Anti American or you're an idiot.
Tell me what Ford isn't a 4 door, has a stick, and sells for under 25k, or Chevy, or Dodge.
Dodge doesn't make 2 door cars anymore unless you want to blow 30 or more though for a Challenger.... and it's gas mileage sucks. And only the 40 thousand dollar and up Challengers have a stick shift. The Scat Pack and SRT versions.
