Big black Cadillac, and the copper trim looks good

it's been a while since suede and chrome was a big thing, but to me, this is an example of how good looking a flat or semi gloss paint looks with shiny trim

  1. Now there's an automotive fad I can definitely get behind. Why? Because it makes young car enthusiasts' who don't have the money for mirror finish bodies, back yard paint jobs more acceptable. A car painted with ten cans of flat black spray paint can look almost as good as a show car. Good news for a kid on a budget. The same can be said for the no-chrome fad. The monochrome look is a cheap cure for rusty chrome. I suppose the same could be said for the black wheel fad, but I just can't get myself to warm up to black custom wheels, even though it's also good news for a young hot rodder with limited funds - a set of used, crappy, pitted custom wheels and a can of black spray paint, and he's in.
The rat rod craze is an other stroke of good fortune for gearheads on a budget, where the scrap pile is the go-to source, rather than purchasing new and expensive custom accessories.

    1. You're right! Spot on... good looking trends for poor gear heads, and we are mostly all poor. Those damn cars take all out dough!
