Finnish Air Force trains its pilots to land on the road in case of a war in which the airbases are taken out.

  1. Landing jet fighters on roads - intentionally, that is - is also commonplace in neighbouring Sweden, where roads occasionally are built wider for this purpose. Saab Draken and Viggen jets were designed to be able to take off or land in about 500 yeards.

Seems like Polish Air Force MiG 21s were into the act too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpuORPtSxhY

The practice was actually started with the first operational jet, Luftwaffe's Messerschmitt Me 262. For obvious reasons it became increasingly difficult to operate from normal air bases, so they took to using the Autobahn instead.
